Welcome to our website!
The Folkestone Teeny Boppers is a 50's style Rock 'n' Roll dance school, for children aged five to sixteen, based in Folkestone, Kent. Children love music just as much as adults and they enjoy dancing if they're given the opportunity to learn.
Dance can help them to appreciate the benefits of structured activity. Since it's also very much a visual art, it can help them to develop confidence as well as learning constructive social skills, improve rhythm and coordination. Learning the art of social Rock 'n' Roll also shows the children that there is more to life than television, xbox and nintendo.
The Teeny Boppers have been going from strength to strength since Margaret and John Hannah founded it in 1995. They are an I.D.T.A (Internaional Dance Teachers Association) accredited Rock 'n' Roll Dance School where the children are taught to standards set out by the I.D.T.A. Children progress through a series of medals from Bronze through to the Supreme 4.
At the start there was only eight children in the dance school. Now meeting in the main ballroom every Saturday morning at the Grand Burstin Hotel situated on the seafront in Folkestone, membership has grown to around one hundred.
